Women - Africa's hidden resource
The majority of the poorest in Tanzania live in rural areas and operates traditional subsistence agriculture. Production is generally small and provide little or no additional returns beyond the simple food that is consumed. In the face of the modern world with education and Health mm makes the most disadvantaged back - and the very back are single women with dependents.
By their relatively small crops there is little to go to sales and they have thus very low income to cover, for example. Health and schooling for their children - to the extent that they all can do without the children's work effort. The situation for these women is that a very risky and marginal situation is maintained, and it creates little or no improvement for their children and future generations.
In addition, the AIDS epidemic, many families are particularly hard-passu. Poverty generates the spread of AIDS - and AIDS reinforces poverty. Very much of an already impoverished household goes to cover the patient's needs, and often sold everything they have to care for the sick. Surviving children are then at the mercy of any other family. Since agricultural areas outside the city of Dar Es Salaam is characterized by high migration from other parts of the country, many of these children no one else other family and ends up having to support themselves, or "flee" to the big city, where mostly a youth that street children are what awaits them.
The program's two fronts
We are working on two fronts in this program. On the one hand, given the poor, small interest-free loans for the development of its agriculture or to other småskalaproduksjo 
n At the same time, we provide support so that their children receive education and Health until they are able to account for these costs themselves. How to create a single development in small but adequate scale adapted to local conditions.
On the other hand, many particularly disadvantaged women with dependents who for various reasons are unable to benefit from small loans. This applies mainly to disability grandmothers with many grandchildren in care, very disabled, sick children and some other groups.
